Matchouse 2.9.12: Local requests, Street Talk and richer conversations

Your next recommendation, local conversation or helping hand starts with a clearer question. Matchouse 2.9.12 brings new ways to post, richer sharing in chat and small improvements that make everyday journeys feel easier.
Ask locally. Make it happen.
The new What do you need? menu brings six starting points together for everyone:
- Get quotes for a job from professionals.
- Ask for recommendations for a trusted professional, agent or place nearby.
- Available today when you need someone who can help sooner.
- Start bidding to receive prices for your request.
- Street Talk to share what is happening in your neighbourhood.
- Create a poll to hear what the community thinks.
Search for an area, add the details and include photos when they help. Request cards make the service, location and relevant timing or budget easier to understand. Personal accounts now start with these guided formats, while businesses and professionals can also keep sharing their regular updates.
From a request to a real conversation
Recommendation and same-day requests make it easier to start a chat. Bidding requests keep offers private between the requester and each bidder; accepting a bid opens the conversation to agree the next steps. Professionals can also go straight from a service lead into chat, and existing request conversations are reused instead of starting unnecessary duplicates.
Street Talk keeps neighbourhood replies in the public conversation. Same-day requests close when the day ends, and bidding requests have a clear closing date, helping everyone see what is still relevant.
Share more without leaving the conversation
- Contact cards: choose the email address or phone number you want to share, with a Save contact option for the recipient.
- Files and media: send documents, photos, videos and audio directly in chat, with attachments available to the conversation's participants.
- Better image sharing: preview photos before sending and open received images in the in-app viewer to browse or download them.
- A clearer inbox: use the Booking filter, see conversations move to the top when new messages arrive, and recognise the other person more easily in service chats.

A feed that is easier to follow
Matching-format photos can now sit side by side in a scrolling row. Longer posts have a Show more control, edited posts are labelled, and the share action has a clearer icon.
